WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL?
The festival used to be held at the end of June, but since 2015 the festival has been held the first full weekend in June. In 2017, our dates are June 2-3.
WHAT IS NEW FOR 2017?
A new name to go with the new look that we started to build in 2016! Happy Valley Music Fest (formerly Summer’s Best Music Fest) will be a great celebration of local, regional and national music in the heart of downtown State College. We’re working on plans for a couple of new features that will make Happy Valley Music Fest 2017 an event to remember. Check back often for updates.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Your tickets or will call receipt. If you purchase your tickets in person, you will need to bring them with you. If you purchase a Weekend Pass or single-day ticket to the festival online or in person, you will receive a separate ticket for each day of the event.
Your ID. You will need your ID if you intend to purchase alcoholic beverages. Please understand that you will need your ID to get a wristband at Happy Valley Music Fest, regardless of your age and appearance.
Please do not bring:
Dogs. Dogs and other pets are prohibited within the enclosed festival area, regardless of the dog’s size or behavior. Please, leave Fido or any other pet at home for the health and safety of all our patrons and the pets. (Of course, service dogs in harness are welcome).
Coolers and outside beverages. Outside beverages are not allowed within the festival gates.
A/V recording equipment. Many of our artist contracts explicitly prohibit live audio or audiovisual recordings of any portion of their performances.
Weapons. There will be a bag check as you enter the festival.
Folding chairs. Please don’t bring folding chairs to Happy Valley Music Fest— although the festival is general admission and we can’t guarantee a seat for everyone, there is ample seating at each of our stages. You are welcome to bring a blanket.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
Please note that we cannot guarantee that specific festival performances won’t be delayed, interrupted or even cancelled in the event of heavy rain – and all festival tickets are non-refundable.
WHERE DO I PARK?
Ample parking is available Downtown in borough-owned garages. Please visit this page for details about rates and locations.
IS THE FESTIVAL FAMILY-FRIENDLY?
Absolutely. Children are welcome at Happy Valley Music Fest. In fact, children age 12 and under who are accompanied by a parent/guardian get in free; teens must have a ticket.
WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
The festival is unable to offer ticket refunds for any reason, including but not limited to inclement weather or the unforeseen cancellation of a particular artist’s performance. We’re all in this together!
IS THE FESTIVAL HANDICAPPED-ACCESSIBLE?
Yes! We value our patrons with mobility issues and do our best to accommodate in every way we can. Handicapped parking is available in all municipal parking garages. Additionally, wheelchair-accessible portable toilets are available.
WHO PRODUCES HAPPY VALLEY MUSIC FEST?
Happy Valley Music Fest is produced by the Downtown State College Improvement District, Inc. (DSCID) The DSICD is devoted to preserving and enhancing the value and vitality of Downtown, and works to retain, expand and attract businesses and investment to improve the Downtown environment. DSCID is a Neighborhood Improvement District, established by ordinance of the Borough of State College in accordance with the laws of Pennsylvania. The District extends from Atherton Street to Sowers Street, College Avenue to Highland Alley. With over 350 participating businesses, DSCID sponsors annual events, promotions and other civic-minded pursuits that add value to the State College experience.
