FRIDAY * 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Garner Side Stage
Spider Kelly has been gracing the stages, rooftops, catering halls, wooded areas, backyards and underground bars of the Centre region since 1996, when founding members Eric Bishop (guitar/accordion/vocals) and Chris Hescox (guitar/vocals) began writing songs, just to ease their troubled minds. The band began playing various venues around Pennsylvania, and their song ‘Mending Days’ shot to #1 at the campus radio station of Bethany College in West Virginia. In 2000, the band took a more “entertainment-centric” turn, putting their own twist on familiar yet seldom heard covers, thereby becoming the biggest underground sellout State College has ever seen. Since then, Spider Kelly has maintained a weekly schedule of lifting the spirits of the citizens, students and astonished out-of-town onlookers who inhabit the State College music scene. With county-renowned rhythm section James Miller (bass/vocals) and Jimmy DeCosmo (drums/vocals) firmly in place, Spider Kelly is set to rocket inexorably into their third decade, blasting power chords and accordion riffs into the stratosphere.
