SATURDAY * 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Locust Lot Stage
Ted McCloskey’s 9th release, Last Flower Standing, is a complex and haunting exposé on those toxic flowers and beautiful weeds that exist all around us. It’s about unshakable shadows that can’t just be buried and forgotten. It’s about discarded souls that have been uprooted yet survive. Familiarly riff-driven and doused in exposed nerves and slide guitars—Last Flower Standing is both heartbreaking and beautiful; a survival story and a past exhumed.
Ted McCloskey has been telling compelling stories to local and national audiences for years. He is a singer/songwriter, a multi-instrumentalist, a producer and film composer. He has nine records to his name alone. His music has been featured on AMC’s Mad Men and The Walking Dead, Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, Jerry Seinfeld’s web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, NBC’s The Voice, and over 100 different shows on networks as varied as Discovery, PBS, and Comedy Central. If you are lucky enough to catch him and his crackin’ band, the Hi-Fi’s, you get the feeling you have seen something special. It’s pure energy; it’s a snarling type of rock and roll that just isn’t made anymore. He has shared the stage with the likes of Jason Isbell, Ryan Adams, Drive-By Truckers, and Alejandro Escovedo.
